One thing absent from Live. No new products to speak of. Google cloud handshake (while Cisco deploys their stuff on AWS), multicloud (whatever that means), Spark renamed to Teams, new bezel on 3850 switches called Catalyst 9k, DNA - a product named from a marketing slogan. Iceberg ahead.

Almost there with Teams. A cunning plan to fool customers into think they are buying the Microsoft version
Humm, clients did not buy into spark and the whole cloud is the future idiocracy, well lets re-brand it with a product that actually sells and hide the failure under the rug.
The next thing is to push incomplete software and push it as a API thing, gui is the past API is the future because in the future we no longer provide complete software, that is a thing of the past, please finish our products for us and pay us for that.
Also if it doesn't work , please don't call us since our support is just tire 1 Indian support, have a nice day.
Seriously, stop confusing reality with the story. Our leadership loves stories. Facts and execution, errr, not so much.
Cisco's pivoting on Spark is hilarious.
In this article from this year's Cisco Live (https://biztechmagazine.com/media/video/cisco-live-2018-ciscos-webex-teams-aims-simplify-collaboration), JR says:
"we've had this technology called Cisco Spark that was mostly about messaging and we had this technology called Webex that was mostly about meetings and we brought them together.
I mean, it's like peanut butter and chocolate. Like you bring them together and it's just extra goodness. And so, when we did that, we converged those platforms together and in doing so, it meant that Webex got better and Cisco Spark, now called Webex Teams, got better and they all integrate deeply together. "
yeah but... three years ago, MK said in (https://searchunifiedcommunications.techtarget.com/news/4500246779/Comparing-Cisco-collaboration-services-Spark-vs-WebEx)....
"Kee said Cisco could have taken Spark's features and added them to WebEx, but it would have created a distraction for WebEx users. Instead, Cisco created Spark to address mobile collaboration needs."
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Bread and circuses
I agree. This whole event seems like peak bs, and I saw some of the previous CEO. No meat.
The Social Responsibility Project Was Amazeballs.
"Day 2 - I dutifully assembled the Raspberry Pi laptop, realizing that none of my children could afford one, due to their failure to be members of a sufficiently oppressed class..."
