Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

WFH should not be allowed

I hate this lady who works from WFH throughout the year. She is smart but definitely not a team player. Why is WFH even allowed (few days is okay but for years together WFH culture is bad)

'team cohesiveness, collaboration, and efficiency" is based on honesty, trust and take responsibility. Currently, the most important skill is taking other's credit, backstubbing others for good focal review. @1txc, look like you don't see this problem, only force to stop WFH. You should get low focal review. Maybe you are the buddy of your manager and you can continue to be a manager in Intel.

Maybe her manager trusts her and yours doesn’t trust you. Jealousy is petty and ugly. My manager treats me like the adult that I am. Or maybe your manager is Indian. Modern employees mind their own business.

You HATE her OP, that’s serious. I suggest you work on yourself and let this ladies manager determine if she’s delivering (hopefully not measured by where she sits while getting it done).

Maybe she hates these low-walled cubes that carry conversations from 10 cubes over

How else can she bid instantly on that ethnic clothing line on Facebook on her home laptop. She then Brags she placed the order within a few seconds. This has been happening every week for months now. She even shares you tube receipe. She is a software engineer. How can she have so much free time during the day in a supposedly 40 hour workweek. Wow just shows what kind of work ethics's some work from home employees have.

Agreed, WFH should not be permitted, especially for project work. Working on site promotes team cohesiveness, collaboration, and efficiency in getting issues resolved faster. When a question needs a response, it has nothing to do with incompetency. It's a function of team dynamics and resolving issues faster. Many times, we're faced with complex issues and team collaboration to chalk talk, resolves issues more efficiently. If there is clear separation of duties, I can careless if someone is in the office or not. But, if we're working on the same project and in the same functional area, which requires collaboration, then get your butt into work... don't require team members to wait on you. What's worse then local team members not being readily available, is having team members in other sites or sitting in another country.

Maybe you are annoying her? If she is smart, and not responding to you, it may not be related to WFH.

OP, if you need some help from her, send email. If email explanation is not good enough for you, you need F2F hands on help, it means you are incompetent, can't learn it by yourself. I have seen so many recent new hire RCG are like you, need baby sitting all day long.
