Well shiver me timbers. Looks like the Pirates of the Caribean, are fighting back. They've dug up their buried treasure, and are showing the Murdoch Mafia the money. It still look, not touch, but its getting interesting.

Course, Disney could take the ball back home, but there in it for the content. They could easily keep the cash and use it outspend all their OTT rivals combined. Bet Dr Scar and the rest of the Permira hynenas aren't happy that the Lion King has come roaring back.

Anyone watching the SPVSS Titanic leaving port would have noticed that the ship's displacement was unusally light. Much of its IP cargo was off loaded by Cisco, and its stewards made to walk the plank. No doubt they could license what they kept on reasonable terms. Plus, much of NDS's IP was owned by the DTV and Sky. Anyway, they were the one's that keep the old crate afloat, so they may as well get something for their money.

What IP? IP is usually owned by the people that have paid for the development . Unless I missed something and SPVSS actually developed something unilaterally in the last 5 years which was then brought by someone.

We are mixing drinks but in matter of days we will know Captain Commcast Morgan is buying a drink for SKy using P 's straw.... Watch out for the curve balll !!!

Then a curve ball will get SkY the IP rights and then break and bin the straw (P) ! Match over!

Does it matter who's the captain, the ship's still going down. I'm sure the Permira rodents have long been aware of the Comcast iceberg. Jack Sparrow and the Disney Pirate's of the Caribean might beat them. But, based on past behaviour the rats don't care. They will take what they can and leave the Titanic before the passangers and crew notice the ship's sinking. Nothing personal, it's just business.

The Bacillus was doing the rounds of L&T people in India a couple of weeks back. Glad to say he was largely ignored except for the few gusset sniffers that want to crawl back up his crevice. The lack of self awareness is palpable - coming to meet the 97% of the people whom only months ago he shafted.

"Well the new company will be much more competitive now as it won’t be contrained by the minimum 60% profit margin cisco insist on. Seriously what a way to destroy a business."

And all the Seachange and other Yank rubbish hanging onto any chance of a sale; adding cost but no value.

@TDylG4J-3nbl It's hard to know, I think they'll try and make themselves more relevant in streaming content protection and hope one of the big concerns starts using it.

Is it clear what business does Dr Abe want to venture into in the IP age? Leads ?

Abe will just be shooting the breeze with what's left of NDS.

He's said he's "glad to be back". Unfortunately all the people Cisco stiffed since 2012 won't be able to say the same.

Still see how the new venture goes, it can't go any worse?

No, Abe is not Permira's b1tch. Permira is Abe's.

@TDylG4J-1ohx, don’t assume that Dr Abe’s coming to save NDS. He’s Permira’s creature and is probably still following their original script. He’s going to flip it or kill it.

@TDylG4J-1ohx - I see the bacillus can write, but the proper English words and syntax still fail to emerge. Too late to save yourself from your chronic incompetence. Dr. Abe will see through you in a millisecond. Figger it out (sic.)

Simple, those outsourced in India and Europe were xNDS staff who still have access to NDS customer base. Front line staff, managers, PM's which will all be critical when a new company shows up to sell new products that you are developing not to instill uncertainty in the customers. When NDS was bought it was a shock to existing customers as was the Cisco way of doing business. Now throw in all the friendly faces you know have been outsourced to L&T, it creates even more instability and uncertainty. In order for Abe to succeed he needs the revenue stream from these existing customers as well build confidence by saying its the same people who have been supporting you for years and only the name has changed. So...take back all those vital resources that were outsourced

TB. A Bacilli that just wont go away despite everyone hating it. The three percent left are also persistent chronic infections mostly hiding out where the sun rarely shines.
