Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Your next successful job!

Layoffs sting no matter what the circumstances, they just do.

Remember the best way to get out of a jam is any way you can.

When layoffs happen, there' s no way of knowing whether or not to take it personally. So don't.

Because it isn't personal - it's just the company thrashing around trying to save itself.

If you want to make a self-assessment, don't include being laid off, you'll feel miserable.

Use constructive metrics such as how are you doing with the hard skills needed for your next successful job!

I lifted this from QCOM's board, good post anyway

I will never use Verizon service again and tell everyone I come into contact with never to use Verizon because the company has zero integrity and charges too much.

Sorry, but its not personal...........

With 10 billion dollars in cuts coming.... a person should know that his/her job is on the line. Start preparing now and when it does happen....you will be prepared financially. It is not “if” anymore. It is “when”.

I wouldn’t wait for a layoff or package. Neither are guaranteed and with the new leadership who knows what packages will look like going forward. If you’re not happy start looking for something now. There’s no harm in looking. Best time to find a job is when you already have one.

Take advantage of any and all schooling you can that VZ will pay for. Make as much as you can until they show you the door. It will happen, just be prepared.

Focus on learning and go out by taking good package. Don’t worry about layoffs. This company is not right place to work any more. No work life balance.
