Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Schenectady Campus is In Trouble

Big layoffs being announced Friday and our Union that we pay to represent us and give us information on events like this. Will not spill the beans, so why have a Union? To fight for wages? That didn’t work as post 2011 members pay is $10+ less an hour. To fight for pension we’ll the post 2011 members don’t have one! For great healthcare? Ya that didn’t work either! Now the union hall is afraid to fight the company on write ups. Place is a joke I hope my number is called Friday! I will never come back

Perhaps there are some layoffs being planned, it seems logical. The company still has a long way to go to reach the 12,000 number that was advertised. It is ironic that the company executives are trying to increase employee morale but yet advertised a targeted headcount reduction. Additionally, there was an agreement to increase headcount in France. So we hear senior executives talking from both sides of their mouth. There are some clueless leaders in the GE Power and the company will not get better until there are changes at the executive and senior executive level.
