Soon the money will be drained from the Unions because Supreme Court will vote that you can't force people to join the union. Drain the swamp.

Public Sector Unions........
You're wasting your breath. A brainwashed tool such as @1bnr will keep spewing the propaganda he's been spoon fed. As Simon and Garfunkel wrote, "...for a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."
@1bnr If you don't like unions, well this is America so you're entitled. BUT please for the love of God stop repeating the Rush Limbaugh/Sean Hannity BS talking point about "union fat cats". Where are all these fat cats? The top union officials in the country, and there are only a handful of them, ( IE Trumka, Hoffa) don't even make close to one million dollars a year, they are not sending jobs out of the country to increase their own bonuses, they are not grabbing pension funds. They are not demanding healthcare concessions. Compare that to the thousands of corporate fat cats making 7, 8 and in a few cases almost 9 figure compensations ( IE Charter Communications CEO Thomas Rutledge received compensation worth $98.5 million in 2016) while selling the American worker down the river. It ain't even close so please stop being a useful tool of the people bending us over.
@1bnr, by your logic, I shouldn't have to pay taxes either.
Sure, the government provides security and peace of mind for me by supplying an army to defend me against bigger, more powerful foes than I am equipped to handle alone, sure they provide a police force to protect me and, sure, they offer a helping hand when disaster befalls me and my family.
But why in God's name should I have to pay for that?
Yawn, our resident anti-union troll is back.
Hey, stupid, just because you state something doesn't miraculously convert its status to fact.
If you want to be in the union fine. You shouldn't be forced. That's the whole point. Let's see when Supreme Court decides how many of your "brothhood" opt out. Unless they grandfather the ruling. Job security.. garment manufacturers? Textiles? Look at Newark Patterson etc. Unions got greedy. It's not grassroots any longer. The union fat cats are as bad as the Corp fat cats
Agreed. He's the Creature From the Black-Hearted Lagoon, our very own anti-union troll.
bii , another swamp creature
Wireless ops here, just had to complete mandatory poll stating where I would be willing to go in case of a "national disaster/strike." Wireline I&R. The only options were in the NE part of the country, I'm in the SW part. What the heck!
Why is Verizon hiring more union employees??? They tried breaking the union last strike. They couldn't find competent people to do the work of trained Union employees.
"The only thing unions are good for are protecting the lazy. Time to put the nails in the coffin for unions." - @bii
If you need nails driven into burial encapsulants, may I recommend SEIU Local 200 Coffin Nail Drivers, as they do the best work.
@bii, your ignorance shows in that statement.
The unionized that do this work are treated far better and more equitably than their non-unionized counterparts doing similar work on the same poles.
You can refuse to acknowledge that all you want, but it doesn't change the facts.
Why do you care if I want to be unionized?
I only wish our side would go union. It seems the union side makes more, are more secure and have better retirement , it seems the only thing they have worse is the employee discount. I don't see organizing as possible here. There are to many heroes and most coworkers quit after awhile once they see how bad it is. Unfortunately that's likely what I will end up doing as well. The money was okay for a bit, but the job is a stepping stone at best, certainly not a career or worthy of long term commitment like the wired side. It seems they all work for like 30 or so years and leave with nice k plans, a pension and benefits. Most are not even that old usually low 50's. They come in all the time to upgrade etc.
The only thing unions are good for are protecting the lazy. Time to put the nails in the coffin for unions.
Hey OP you get a choice, to join or not to join, to work for a company with a union or not to work. You make your choice and let others make theirs. I see it as draining the swamp also. Unions don't need people like you. Your not a team player, you only care about yourself. Unless you work for yourself in a company atmosphere your part of a team.
Divide and conquer post. The big boys attitude is " Let's keep union, non union and lower management at each other's throats so they won't notice that we're bending all three of those groups over! "
@tmk Amen! Very well put.
I’ve never seen people so gleeful over the misfortunes of their coworkers as I’ve seen on this board, both union and VZW alike. That is a disgusting trend right now. That and the whole “if the company doesn’t give it to me, YOU can’t have it either” mentality is appalling.
I have worked in the severest of weather, from grueling heat, to the most finger-numbing cold, from blizzards to downpours, in order to keep this network functioning.
I have toiled endless nights to the point of exhaustion in order to keep this network functioning.
I have worked through pain and extreme discomfort in order to keep this network functioning.
I have missed out on things I would have loved to have been at in order to keep this network functioning.
Through no fault of my own, I have been placed in harms way in order to keep this network functioning.
I have tried to present the best face to customers, some of whom have been very trying and were quick to misplace blame, on a consistent basis.
I have earned every dollar that was ever paid to me here.
What have I not done? I have not come on this site to diminish the jobs of others, people whose tasks I know little about. I have not called for the downfall of my fellow employee. I have not cheated or gamed the system.
So have to sit here while some punk who knows nothing about me or what I do for a living, some malcontent who likes to label every single union member a fat, lazy, stupid money-grubbing thief, and anonymously calls for, and relishes in, the prospect of my demise, and of thousands of dedicated men and women just like me, is disgusting.
Lol.... Vz will drain all the wireless store employees first
I suspect the OP has a not-so-hidden agenda in that silly post, that of provocateur.
But the rank and file didn't fall for it.
Nice try to our board's anti-union troll who spends way too much time dwelling upon, and hating, hard-working people.
