Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

One stop shop?

While browsing the classifieds at work, I saw an email about transformation. Apparently they will build a “Walmart like” supercentre to house all the different product lines ?

Don’t worry knee pad manufacturing will take off since the business is left for family and friends. Hey good idea weatherford should look into investing in knee pads because there will be no recession for them.

Another supercenter? That just may work for Weatherford if any of the managers could actually work together. Problem is the very few that are worth anything will go into this and quickly learn how little their counterparts are doing as they are a friend of whoever - they get frustrated and leave. WFT is left worse than it started.

End of the day, one of the biggest problems at WFT is that NO ONE is held accountable for anything! Something goes wrong - blame it on the field, they blame it on supply chain, they blame it on manufacturing, they blame it on engineering and they blame it on poor vision or lack of resources. If each member of this "One Weatherford TEAM" (insert slight giggle here) would be accountable for their portion of the process and management was held accountable to ensure they were doing just that, they might have had an opportunity to dig themselves out of this mess about 4B dollars ago. At this point with selling off different bits, outsourcing support and moral lower than ever I see no other way for this to end apart from a few lucky BUs getting sold to someone who might actually run them correct and save some jobs for hard working members.

Good luck

I hope they don’t start drug testing again.

Should be pretty easy. The pharmacy is already there.
