Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Has anyone been laid off yet?

Has anyone been laid off yet? That's what this site is all about. Speculating about Oracle's past, present, and future is all well and good, but so far no layoffs posted.

Usually when the stock tanks after a bad announcement, the market demands some heads. We have yet to see them roll, but the day is young. At most companies, this would start by Friday (tomorrow) and continue next week, to be mostly done before July 1. Oracle tends to be eccentric that way and keep people guessing.

@Karma: You betcha I'm trolling (aka asking a question), but I'm trolling for legitimate information, not to upset people or tout some point of view. I want people to post when and if someone has been laid off.

I've looked through the last few weeks, and I haven't seen anything that would rise above the usual noise of minor readjustments. Meanwhile I got two interesting anonymous opinions: One says they are being stealthy, and another says that they are too hidebound by bureaucracy to make a large, definitive change. If they were to do so, they'd have to wait until after their FY18 announcement that they made on 6/19.

Yes all around the globe small layoffs have occurred this past month. As has been posted it’s a trickle of rolling layoffs across groups and Geos.

Stop trolling.

Oracle plans layoffs to be under the radar, never triggering WARN. A mass layoff that would be covered by the press, in order to send a signal to Wall Street, would confirm their precarious position, negating any benefit to the stock. Could even make things worse.

That is the price for secrecy and obsfuscation O has practiced about these actions over the years.

Oracle isn’t that quick. Too much bureaucracy (HR, legal, ...) invoked in RIFing people (as in anything, really).
