Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle Corporation Stock Has Further to Fall Before It Is Priced Right

https://investorplace.com/2018/06/oracle-stock-further-fall/

"Oracle stock doesn't look like a buy until $40"

"I’ve never been a big fan of Oracle. The bull thesis has always hinged on out-sized cloud growth propelling the company into a new era of steady growth. But cloud growth has always been weak relative to other major cloud players, and the rest of the business is slowly dying."

Q1 is always worst quarter.

$30 per share is still overpriced given what I saw when I was a client .

smart investors are making money with AMZN , MSFT and the like, not ORCL

AMZN : 968$ on jun 26th 2017, now 1715$ , + 77%

MSFT : 68.93$ on jun 26th 2017, now 100.4$ , + 45%

ORCL : 50.14$ on jun 26th 2017, now 44.10$ , -12%

only financial pirates betting on the short term rise can make short (and little) money with ORCL. those are not investors, those are only profiteers that will sell the stock as soon as they can. and ORCL is now only for those people, just look at the yearly graph of AMZN (always up with some small dips) , MSFT (always up with some small dips) and ORCL (a rollercoaster)

today any wise and smart investor is keeping very far away from ORCL, today only pirates are buying and selling to get short profit.

and the forecast is not good either. with more debt than equity, with revenues propelled by edge selling tactics that cannot continue forever, with Oracle cloud still being only a promise, long term forecast is all but good.

Based on the month of June, lack of pipeline and all the territories still up in the air. Q1 will come in short. Stock won’t hit below $40 until after Q1 call.

Once it gets below $40, it's not coming back up.

"I don’t think shares are fairly valued until $40, and I’m not a buyer until this stock dips back into the $30’s"

Oh yes, always buy a stock when it is on the way down, with no particular visible reason why it would go up again. Great advice.

@ewc: Agreed. This should focus on layoffs, and any stock discussions should be related to how they might cause said layoffs. Not much is happening now, but there's a reasonable chance of a medium to big layoff next week, due to the stock drop after the announcement. Or they might choose stealth and use numerous small actions. If they decide to cut a product, then they will likely do it all at once, like they did for SPARC and Solaris.

Those writers need to keep on writing something, else they would be laid off!!

Prior poster it’s good to know whatnot is happening with the stock and investor analysts are saying. Bc this intel will likely trigger the layoffs. The trifecta are under enormous pressure to make a number. When they cannot do this via sales, the only other way is lower costs aka layoffs. Which they will start and do in a rolling fashion to not trigger publicity.

This is a layoff rumor site, not an Investment forum. You can go CNBC or finance yahoo or google for that. Who cares about the stock price if you are no longer employed by ORCL.

I'm sure more articles like this will be written in the next couple of weeks. I expect it to go down through the coming quarter.
