I want to say good luck to those RIF'd at the end of May. I know next Friday is your official last day but most of you will take off before that. Wishing you the best of luck for where ever your path takes you.

I was one of the IT folk that was notified in May. I’m not going to lie, after 15 years of no job security and watching this slow motion train wreck, I wasn’t even mad. Better I made it out with severance than get sold off to IBM and without it.
Good luck to you all, it’s not bad on the other side of the wall.
Its old past now, But for re-careering and like to work outdoors and get a Good Pension and Health
Then Check out the Railroads and set goals to become a locomotive engineer. IF you are younger then this is for you. Many old timers are retiring and they are hiring like made now nscorp.com csx njtransit amtrak panynj I am 62 now so no one will take me.. RR people retire when they are 60 or 55
Good luck to all. I was rif Dec 2016. I had 35 years so I was able to retire with a pension. In FL you can apply for unemployment after all of your severance weeks have passed. The max you get is 12 weeks and the pay is around 450.00 bi weekly.
This is the single most friendly comment I have read on this site. Thanks for the well wishes. I have something waiting for me starting in July. I was planning on leaving anyways, so getting a severance and vacation payout was like a huge bonus for me.
Not even mad.
Thanks. My path will take me straight to the unemployment office. Beer and free money every week for a year plus!!!
