Donating money to the homeless in San Jose is great PR. To sell commodity switches & routers at great margins, Cisco must promote Social Responsibility and Diversity.

I was blue badg just shy of 20 years and was LR'd. Goal was to be one of first to make 30 years. It never was primarily about the money, more culture and freedom. Lots of opportunity for folks that can think through problems and have basic common sense troubleshooting and execution skills. I wish everyone at Cisco the best of luck. Don't fear the future, don't get complacent, don't buy into politics, and use your time at Cisco to keep your skills sharp. Life is short. Push yourself and enjoy it.

"Chuck gave 100 million of it to homeless in San Jose and nothing to employees"

Couldn't agree more. Great to be part of the Family. Instead we deal with more head cutting.

How can things be so bad for a company that repatriated so much money? It's like bad decision insurance.

The EVP deal. $27M sign on incentive. Different world. Not sayin’ it’s wrong - I hope the results will come - just feels like a different team.

The attempt to solve is just that. An attempt. Nice try nerds. Now pound sand while we reserve the RSUs for our brilliant management.

Outsiders here are tone deaf to what's going on.... all the problems everybody complained about years are attempting to being solved. I wouldn't call it a failure until we see the strategy. More power to the engineers in this one... isn't that what everyone wanted?

I was at Cisco for 10 years money was great. When Chuck took over with his chronie Kelly Kramer they really messed up. Revenue has been flat prior to Chuck taking over. Its a pure numbers game as they need to keep eps looking good while revenues remain flat. They cut high paid and hire early in career. They invest in software and security compains to grow subsciption revenues. In short Im happy to be gone and working for a cloud security comapny thats not focused on eroding hardware footprints. Cisco has no cloud strategy and it will cost them big time! If you’re reading this chances are its too late for you. If you are marketable you should prepare every year like its your last. The day I took my severance I started another job at a better company. Dont be caught off guard.

Can confirm that contractors are being cut in services. Director briefed our team that he had a cost number to get down to and that there would be more cuts.

17 contractors were cut in my group. Their work to be shared among remaining FTEs. Once they are done with contractors, FTEs will be next. Sinking ship!!! Abandon!!!
