Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

$10 Billion Challenge

So, the axe continues to fall not only on middle mgt, but also the at very senior officer level in Badking Ridge - a few more have been tapped to leave the business. And, a complete outsider with no ties to anyone was brought in to the run the ship (along with a no talent who wears an open shirt and no socks). I don’t get it?! In the past, a new face meant that they were brought in to do the dirty work that a friendly exec might have trouble doing. What’s going on here?

"What do you think that means ?" @4tsk

I think it means that you make up nicknames on the fly in an attempt to bolster your point of view.

The stock price is going to go way up. Looks like Verizon is going to hit 20 billion in savings. I guess its going to be a rebirth in the company.

Yah, I heard LCI is on the chopping block since that was Stratton's brainchild and it's headed the way of IPTV. There's some billion dollars to be saved.

You have seen nothing yet. Once Hans is the CEO, the puck will drop and there will be a number of swift changes over the next 6 months. First, much of IT will be outsourced to IBM or Cognizant. VES will also go to one of these or another company. Second, there will be an OTP video play (late out of the gate, per usual) that will fail to make much of a dent but at least get Verizon out there after the fiasco with IPTV. Third, a number of executive departures as legacy SVPs and VPs are "encouraged" to retire so that more new blood from outside can be brought in to attempt a transfusion of energy as seen in the FANG companies. Buckle up, boys, it's going to be a bumpy ride into 2019!

"Hans will get rid of uncounted upper managers who work from home and collect a big paycheck too do nothing..."

You're describing Hans. You forgot to add fraud as one of his noteworthy accomplishments.

About time. They should have remove upper management a long time ago. This company is very top heavy who get payed to do nothing but enjoy their coffee. I thought Hans was a bad thing for the company now its going to be a good thing. Remove all the upper management who only has 1 direct report and no one knows exactly what he/she is doing.

Always a lot of talk about VZ breaking the union. I don’t know the reasoning, there has always been a lot of theories, but I don’t think they want to. If they did, it would be done by now. VZ already has the power and means to do it. EISP offers would be one method to clear out the older union workers but they haven’t made any efforts or moves to change the face of the workforce. I don’t think they have any intention of breaking the union.

Trolls just can't stop they.

Lowell stinks get ride of him.

Hans in worse get ride of him.

Bottom line. VZ is very successful.

Going to break the silly union like a twig.
