Now that it's been announced that GE Healthcare will be a standalone company, how many people will be laid off as part of the transition?
I'm actually holding out hope that it will not be that many, but I've been wrong about stuff like this before.
Any thoughts?
I think you should get used to being wrong about this stuff like before.
Healthcare employees should be safe. A few that worked on projects that interfaced to company apps may be let go. Once the new company is created it will business as usually. Some execs might get the boot and others may be cut do to their locations. This will take a couple years to unwind so if you think it won't work out for you update your resume now.
Most of GE Capital IFS will be terminated. I think around 100 people.
