Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Q4 Bonus

It’s posted. It’s out. It was a bad quarter. Q4 is historically our best quarter. Why did we wait around for Q4 bonus?? Now to get serious about getting out. All my peers who have left for significant increases. Shaking my head at why I didn’t start looking sooner. Now I am competing with all my other peers fighting for the same jobs outside of Oracle.

I still get pay raises. My manager still cares about us and I like my job. I think you people are shills.

So the question would be.... What evils deeds do you do for your manager, that no one else will do?

You have zero idea if the 3 hit their bonuses or not. It looks like several of you are really frustrated. Stop your complaining and just leave. No one is keeping you hostage.

Strange how the worker bee bonuses are terrible again for FY 18 but miraculously no matter how bad the results are the 3 stooges always seem to hit their full performance bonuses.

Cb and Rb won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. They are there to cut costs not make friends. If you are waiting for things to get better you will be wasting time. They have very specific instructions on what they need to do. Stop complaining or get onboard. Better yet, leave.

The new Millenials coming to Oracle will soon discover that the biggest a--hole, Mark Hurd, will not give them pay increases. Oracle will be left with a revolving door only to be filled by Millenials who believe the crap spewing from Hurd's mouth. Hurd is bound for Hell upon his death as he treats everyone but his inner circle like crap. Wait until the new Millenials get a load of this a--hole!

MH getting rid off incompetent managers? Are you kidding me! He’s the most incompetent and most overpaid manager ever. He would be scared out of his pants to have competent people around !

I can’t believe what I am witnessing in the Customer Success department at Oracle. CB and RB have created the worst culture with no employee success (despite what they say on the All Hands Calls which are a bunch of lies).

This new Hub Leader RB has no business in his role. There is no scorecard whatsoever so there is a lot of skeptical business practices. HR should be notified. Hard work isn’t appreciated or recognized properly. Nothing is communicated around details of how we are restructuring. It’s really awful. The latest which came out this week is bonuses are determined by whoever is in with the management leadership, not real results. Really bad.

At some point CR and MH will get wind of this and get rid of these bafoons. Mark my word.

90% of MARKETING cloud CSMs quit in APR-MAY.

The remaining ones are typically on the oracle dole and will take anything oracle gives them.

The exodus of real talent continues. The lackeys and aging stay bc they won’t thrive outside the oracle toilet that is the leadership hierarchy .

Word is that OMC leaders (new guys from Ad tech) are horrified at the state of the business and even more horrified about the CDONATO leadership for cloud sales. He has no clue about the CX or OMC businesses or clients, nor does he care to know or learn.

Ompaloompahs are running the place.

Oracle loses by waiting for attrition. The best people are the ones that will leave on their own.

The management sees only dollar signs and the monetary bottom line. But there is a bottom line with employee competence.

The competent people are the ship's crew and once they leave the rats will have no idea how to run the ship. The more attrition Oracle waits for, the faster the ship will sink.

In my area it's more than s---ing up. These are the people who did something unethical for the manager, like attacking or sabotaging someone they don't like or lying for them about something. Those are the people getting bonuses. Total corruption and incompetence.

Let me add to this, that these people are the ones not doing any work. In exchange for lying for the manager or attacking someone for them, they don't have to do any work. They also are getting the bonuses because the corrupt management feels that having thugs like this around is the only way they can keep their own jobs.

When you see someone in your group who never has to do anything and the manager is supporting that behavior, then something is going on there that is unethical. That person is one of the manager's thugs.... much more than s---ing-up is going on.

But they are buddies with the boss. Game of s--- up not work ethic.

I, too, left voluntarily (I wasn't in sales so bonus wasn't a factor). I think the job I had at Oracle would have been around another 1-3 years, and I had thought about waiting for a package, since I had many years under my belt, but decided I'd rather get out now, it just got too demoralizing for me to be on what felt like a slowly sinking ship and it felt like I was staving off the inevitable day when I had no job at all. I think the hole in the ship is going to get bigger and it's going to sink faster than people realize. The people around me were either OK waiting for a package (and don't seem to worry about finding another job while unemployed) or they had their head in the sand and don't like to think about the fact that in a few year's time, their job is likely to be gone.

Left a few months ago. No longer worrying about my job or bonus. Life is better outside of Oracle.

Most of Customer Success under CB are now actively trying to find new employment. It’s rumored they need attrition badly. Boy are they going to get it and lose some of their best staff.

Please for your own good, don't wait for a package and don't wait for a good bonus. Your not going to get one. I quit back in January, and it was the best thing I ever did. I am off blood pressure medication. Much happier and more relaxed. Oracle was once an awesome place to work, but over the last 5 years has turned into a really awful environment. There is no one left in management at Oracle that cares about you or your peers. All the decent managers have long left or been replaced. My recommendation is to get on with your lives, and help your friends and colleagues find a decent place to work, or something they enjoy doing. I am not saying to stop communicating and sharing information. I think you are doing folks a real service by letting them know the reality of Oracle and their Ponzi Scheme of a Cloud Business.

Agree with previous posters. They are wanting folks to quit. The bonus sends a clear message. Some of my peers received a decent bonus, but it’s based on favoritism and not actual work ethic. I had someone receive almost 50% more than me and everyone knows they are never here and hardly works. But they are buddies with the boss. Game of s--- up not work ethic.

The lack of bonuses (and raises) is Oracle's polite way of telling you that you're not needed. They would much rather you leave voluntarily than to be RIF'ed. With the upturn in the economy and low unemployment rate I'm sure Oracle is hoping for significant attrition to reduce costs. Younger employees should be able to easily find better opportunities elsewhere. Unfortunately older employees may not be as fortunate.

We weren't waiting for bonuses. We were waiting for a RIF package.
