Hold on to your hats. Confucius say the big one that everyone has been waiting for is right around the corner. It's gonna be BIG, it's gonna be BAD, it's gonna be UGLY, and it's gonna be SOON.

I have the inside scoop so stay tuned for more information.

Oracle performance reviews have always been a f:ing joke with zero integrity - just a mechanism to reward loyalty and punish the Il loyal. That’s how LE - the world’s biggest egomaniac- likes it and how he gets rid of people who don’t agree with him, always has. The sh-- always start at the top, always!

Managers are rating staff based on performance. Those at the bottom will be terminated with cause so they do not have to give severance packages.

Since when? This is not happening. Managers layoff whoever won't do evil deeds for them. That is the absolute truth and always will be at Oracle.

If you are a star-performer, get out of the company and let the rats have what's left. It is beneath your dignity to work in a rat-infested pit of filth.

no massive layoff ever happened in Oracle, at least if you intend "massive" as at least 10% workforce wiped out in at latest the same week.

I have never seen in 20 years a 10,000+ layoff in a single event at Oracle. the "biggest" layoff I have seen is the wiping of the ex-Sun HW engineering, and even if it was large, was less than 3k people, i.e. less than 3% of the total. not massive at all.

and of course there will never be any massive, huge, big, or whatever you want to call it, layoff in the future. it is simply too far from Oracle's attitude and way to do things.

yes, there will be layoffs, many layoffs, the current workforce is largely oversized for what Oracle intend to do in the future, bt these layoffs will be dilued in time and space.

don't expect any big one, don't believe anyone saying there will be a big one. this will simply not happen. all this noise is just...well...noise, created for a purpose by Oracle itself or just for fun by some stupid idiots.

If you have the inside scoop why don’t you share it with us?

I do believe something big is coming as I heard from a reliable source that managers have to rate their staff in terms of performance, so what does that tell you?!

As long as the current executive team is in place then things will never change. You won't see big layoffs because that will spook the the base of key large customers. It will continue as painful downward spiral of layoffs that will largely be under the WARN notice window.

Methinks much noise signifying nothing.

Not that Oracle is doing that great, but the phrase "all hat and no cattle" comes to mind.

People, death by 1,000 tiny layoffs. If the top 3 don’t disclose numbers, so they can hide no growth, imagine how a “big one” is so counter intuitive to their objective.
