100% Transformation at its best - A once successful company dying a slow painful death. As the Beatles would say “let it be” Eddie STOP trying to brainwash people with this transformation b---s---! The only transformation is the obvious - BANKRUPTCY. Have some dignity and get out of that toxic environment. Transformation is coming sooner than you think.

There are still some good people left, in my department they promoted a couple to Director positions so they would stick around. I think Directors sign contracts so if they are let go they get a generous parachute... otherwise I can't imagine why others lower on the food chain stick around. I still think getting out with a new job at another company is better than being a captain of a sinking ship... and the other poster is correct, we have to read between the lines and not believe what Eddie is saying, but of late it's easier to see through it. Almost every major business publication or outlet sees little hope for Sears. A former co-worker told me when she worked at Eastern airlines years ago, after declaring BK they paid those left to continue working thru the chapter 7 process then also added on extra weeks at the end as sort of a 'severance pay'... maybe something like that could happen to those left. But, plan for the worst, esp with ESL in charge.
What do you want them to say? "Were going to file BK in three months"? Of course they will keep telling anyone who will listen or believe that everything is O.K. and then one day it will not be O.K.
If you stay and believe the transformation then you get what you deserve and you cannot complain when it happens.

Just like when the 3rd Reich was losing the war they kept telling the German citizens things were going well.... they will keep asking you to 'drink the kool aid' until the curtain finally comes down. I don't know how some of the Sears PR people sleep at night.
