Im so sorry for those left behind. The work will be grueling. The atmosphere toxic like always. Long hours for sure. And say good bye to those 9/80s. Im sure the managers that are left behind will pull their weight. LOL. Its going to be a long hard road. I for one am glad about getting laid off. With another job lined up, it was a welcome gift and will help add to the savings account. I wouldnt have stayed if I was “saved” anyways. The Executive Management Team are the mist incompetent that I have ever seen. Good luck everyone still employed.

The ones left behind were hand picked and recruited to start their careers at SWN. Remember they were trained by idiot managers that are there. Their training s---ed. They will not be able to make it in the real oil and gas world, as they have no clue what really needs to be done. SWN has done these people a great deal of harm. Many people who left SWN for other jobs were soon let go from those jobs. Why? Because they were not trained to do real oil and gas work.
Layoffs are happening today. NOT!!! Gotcha guys and girls cuz I read this site and you thought it would be a Thursday. Gee I am smarter than you! Now back to work you hapless souls. Keep rowing this sinking boat into the rocky shore! I will guide this sinking ship!
Have a great day from Your hapless CEO
Doubt anyone can plan to retire from SWN someday.
Also to add, the 2016 layoff and the reorg was hard and stressful on many, but many of us still enjoyed and believed in SWN, now it will be interesting to see over time how many left behind do stay. Management has created the most toxic environment that depresses many of us, after yesterday, seeing coworkers laid off that carry their weight let go, gave me the push I needed to look elsewhere. To all the interns, run from SWN, their are so many other o&g companies in Houston that can pave the right path for you. Don't be fooled my management or hr...they are snakes.
You know it's bad here when you're disappointed you didn't get laid off.
