Thread regarding Sears layoffs

This is interesting

Anybody noticing that the latest closings announcement is not really making the news? Up until now, every new announcement would spread like wildfire. This time I have so far seen two sites mention it, that's it.

Is the media getting tired of us? Are we at the point where Sears closings are so common that they are no longer newsworthy?

I was also trying to find news about the layoffs this week. Zip. At least not on page 1 or 2 in google search....

Because those news slots are being used to tell the 100 million paid prime members about the big things Amazon is doing.

Because no one cares about Sears anymore or half of the reporters have never heard of nor set foot in a Sears in their lives.

I think it also might have to do if they have more important news to cover to save this extra news for slow days. They might also want to wait that its confirm intel and also how big of the news is to make it big or small.

Because everyone already knows Sears is done.

May also have to do with the fact that Sears is far from alone. You can only report retail closings so often before it becomes a broken record I guess. :(
