Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoffs postponed to mid Q2

The layoffs or small ones we talk about are on hold. Too much at stake to cause shifts in stock price. Investors and analysts are watching with an eagle eye. Sounds like they will resume mid Q2.

Enjoy the update and have peace of mind it’s on hold for now.

Layoffs or firings? Because if you lay people off, you can't immediately hire replacements for them. My understanding is that you have to wait at least six months before hiring replacements.

Now, if they are fired for not making their numbers, that's different. Bit firing is tricky, a legal minefield, which is why big firms will use layoffs to get rid of poor performers.

Class of layoffs to be happening in late Q1/Q2. If you aren't making your numbers, they will just replace you with another wave of class of hires. The company is losing patience with the college kids. It's time to put up or shut up - sink or swim.
