He sounds like he's in love with his DM friend and with his mom who kept him sheltered from the real world. Wish he'd walk a day in my shoes.

Think I'll call out tomorrow and meet my DM on the beach with a margarita.

@ngf

“If you’re fired or laid off stay off this site” lol last I checked this is a free country and we can express our concerns or news here

DMs should be eliminated as they are doing nothing to drive sales in the stores

Their role could be rolled into whatever the RVP does!!! The store count does not support their need let alone their over blown wages

Do they fight for raises for their employees? NO

Do they fight for more hours for the stores? NO

They are the ones dreaming up all the cut to hours to make THEMSELVES look great

The DMs care only about themselves

The DMs stragergy is NOT working!

You cannot run a store with bare minimum people and think that will give the customer a WOW experience

And I doubt your DM is on the Phone 24/7

Your DM is at the 🏖 beach

Thinking up ways to save his job and does not care about others

Not all DMs are at the beach. Not all DMs are fat and do nothing. I am not a DM, but I know one well. He is either on the phone doing work if he is not visiting his stores. He is on his computer 24/7 checking numbers out, calling to motivate the SMs if necessary. He rolls up his sleeves and does "dirty work" as you described it when necessary. He is a devoted Sears employee and has the same concerns and stresses that you have. He has a family to feed, kids to send to college and has devoted ALL of his career since graduating from college to Sears. I have never heard him berate the people that work for him, never heard him berate Sears the way you do. He trys his best to be positive and hope for the best. If you're still working for Sears, get out. If you have been layed off, fired or quit, stay off this website. There is enough negativity to sink a ship here - why add more. My mom taught me that if you don't have anything good to say about someone, then just keep your mouth shut. I wish you had been taught that well.

Whiny a--? The dude is not rotating through his district, not on conference calls and has an out of office reply on his email. He's at the beach with his family while we are doing the dirty work.

Good thing it’s not like they don’t have ~15 stores they’re overseeing.. some may be spending time in the high driving stores, some may be spending time in the low hanging fruit, some may be rotating through their district. Everybody is different and has a different managerial style. Just because your whiny self doesn’t see him doesn’t mean anything. (Yes I know not all DMs are good)
