Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I have to admit that whoever came up with the iPad idea was actually on to something

Unfortunately the execution was absolutely horrible and it was ahead of its time. I’ve made posts before explaining exactly why iPads weren’t compatible with sears. In a nutshell it’s due to the fact that the core systems sears’ infrastructure is built around are ancient and they bottleneck the capability of the app running on the iPad pretty heavily. However the same idea is working out extremely well in companies with more up to date technology.

If I remember correctly sears was one of the very first, if not the first big company to attempt this.

The ipad idea was a great idea, but it was never probably managed. The apps were very slow and very glitchy. They invested so much money in so many things that many apps never worked properly. You can say that one of the biggest failures was called Sears you couldn't hear people at times it was overall to glitchy as many other apps that it made the apps pretty much good for plu and checking counts other than that the old sncs did the same job that this iheslds do.

Actually AT&T was not doing it "long before Sears"...

AT&T did it in 2012-2013: https://9to5mac.com/2012/08/02/att-stores-will-start-moving-to-ipad-based-point-of-sales-by-early-next-year/

Sears did it in 2011: https://www.engadget.com/2011/10/18/sears-to-give-ipads-ipods-to-employees-in-450-stores/

AT&T did it right, but Sears did do it first, which was OP's point.

@TZyPwq4-gkp AT&T has been using iPads successfully for years in their cellular stores and long before Sears. Unlike Sears, they had the proper infrastructure to succeed.
