Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Student Loan Assistance

Has anyone been laid off for the student loan assistance? That just seems so easy to defraud.

They would have to run credit checks from quarter to quarter to see how loan balances were declining .

Practically everyone with a student loan was eligible to reduce their payments due to a government payment reduction program. That would throw off the math of how low the expected balance would be.

There is no way they could ever enforce this one.

People are late on their payments all the time. Fire them for skipping a school loan payment? Who hasn't done that ???

This is code for "if Fidelity is the only one paying your bill, you better start looking for someone else to pay your bill and quit before they walk you out."

As long as you continued to pay your usual monthly student loan payment you have nothing to worry about. The program was designed to help payoff loan earlier not to have fidelity pay your monthly payment for you. This is something that can be easily checked by fidelity.
