Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why invest in Israel and not here?

So, the latest news is that Intel is planning to invest about $5 billion in upgrading Kiryat Gat manufacturing plant.

Once again instead of creating more jobs here, Intel keeps laying off Americans and expanding its operations elsewhere.

What are the chances that one of these days we will become a priority for Intel?

Intel began in Santa Clara, but after 50 years and at its size, it now has a worldwide view. A citizen of the world whose stock is traded on many exchanges. It's strong armed by many governments and given incentives worldwide. Don't expect any loyalty to the US except what the President can embarrass it into giving. Any employee who thinks s/he has an advantage by being in the US is delusional. For your career, when Europe was hot, people moved there. Same for Japan. Now think about finding and expat job in India and China, or don't kid yourself to think you put your career ahead of family, familiarity, comforts and inertia.

More capacity required on 14nm as 10nm output is MIA and cheaper to do it overseas with government kickbacks and taxbreaks, duh

What exactly makes you think you should be a priority for Intel?

Making money outside of the US: good.

Creating jobs outside of the US: bad.

F---ing hypocrit.

Just continuation of the trackrecord of mess, failures and political games based on DEVIDE & CONQUER... as that is what they are best at in IDC.

Ahh... and having a big mouth... at least you get a somewhat better understanding of the mess in that region.

Tax breaks and other incentives makes it too good not to expand there. Intel is a corporate wh0re just like other corporations.
