I just found out that Sears Online no longer takes credit cards over the phone. They will place the order for the customer and expect them to pay at the store.

If they come to store to pay online order...here is stores chance to steal the sale back. Reservation is not secure until payment is made. Don't pay online order, it cancels out. This is where associates can step in , offer PA, show them the product, attachments and possible up sale.
It's not Sears online. If you call Sears to order something like tires to be sent to the store, they no longer accept credit cards. They place the order and the customer pays in the store.
Where does idiots like OP come up with their misinformation
This is total BS.
To save anyone else time testing it, they do still take credit cards online.
