Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Third Point

Looks like they have sold all their SWN shares. It didn’t take them long to determine Way destroys value vs creating it for them.

Watch for Way blabber something like “we love the value of such a [big adjective] asset like the Fayetteville and have decided to keep it for now”...

The slow death spiral continues.

Hey guys! Me and my millennial buddies were in the market today discussing this issue over some burned pizza from the $50,000 brick oven. Good stuff! Anyway, we got some coffee from the barista (really wish they had those frequent drinker cards). Anyways, we concluded with a certain certainty that layoffs are gonna happen. 510 on 524. New slogan! And yes, as long as the Joker on 6 and his lapdogs are joking in the hallways, it will be a miserable place to work!

Thanks, I think it’s just the uncertainty right now ... we’ve passed several of these rumored layoff dates ... any legitimate knowledge of when and what might happen?

That past reply just might be the most positive thing said on this whole site. I agree.

Keep the faith. The corner is about to be turned. And either scenario will be good. SWN will become more fun when the corner turns, or for those that might end up getting layed off, you will land in the right spot, you will be picked up, most likely by an opportunity you didn’t see coming, and it will be good.

This has become a miserable place to work. I really just want to know what work I could do that’s worth doing ?

Well if SWN can’t get 1.5 billion for it, he should say blah blah blah we’re keeping it. You’ll be at 2.0x debt/ebitda by 2022 with, or you’ll be there instantly if you sell it. But, if you keep it you have crazy upside gas optionality if gas goes up.
