@3ivk - Any buyers of these properties will probably already have plans and tenants ready to go! I doubt that any investor would buy solely for speculation; the retail real-estate market is just too soft.

The stores being auctioned are not necessarily all going to the same buyer and not necessarily all closing any time soon. The locations will continue to be leased by Sears until the real estate investor who buys each building finds a new tenant ready to move in.
The next ones are those being auctioned off this month. Indicative bids being reviewed ,auctions to be complete by May 31st. Stores to be notified no later than week of June 3rd. Auto Centers to close no later than July , main stores by Aug.
@1kqf - I believe your description of "incredibly ignorant" is a tad harsh! Even intelligent people can succumb to the notion of false hope and therefore appear gullible. It's not uncommon under dire circumstances for people's reasoning skills to become less acute.
Obviously all of them will close soon. People who actually believe Sears PR of a transformation are so incredibly ignorant.
Nope , they seem to not be releasing lists anymore . Just local announcements one at a time .
