Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Exodus

When I left Intel in summer 2016, the company was about to launch 10nm, and well, here we are, still waiting. So what is PTD doing these days? What’s ATTD doing ? Making more substrates for a declining market ? I have noticed on my LinkedIn many collleagues have moved to google, Micron, Microsoft etc. Is there an exodus out of TMG?

@2xrb - It is generally agreed, including by Intel, that other companies' 7nm processes are similar or equal to Intel's 10nm process in terms of transistor density. There is no false 'labeling', just different metrics between companies.

@xiq It‘s not Intel‘s fault that Moore‘s Law has ended. The laws of nature and science killed Moore‘s Law. If you can blame Intel for anything, then only for not recognizing earlier that we had basically reached the end of what was physically possible.

Of course, Intel could do what other companies are doing and just label a process as „7nm“ or even better „4nm“, but sadly, our marketing is not that savvy. Would certainly make many of the trolls here and idiots like Ashraf happy.

Intel PTD (and their brethern in other Fabs) are all around failures in creativity, productivity, cost savings, training, meeting schedules, etc. You name it! They fail. Mgmt is even worse with their merry-go-round changing priorities and living in 24/7 task force mode. Ridiculous failures. Obviously new leadership and new blood is a requirement.

10nm still waiting and looks like end of 2019.

Can you imagine that, would the Intel of Andy, Bob and Gordon have allowed an organization spending billions a quarter and with three fabs with tens of billions of equipment all wait, not to mention two billion dollar designs that were defined 5 -7 years ago all waiting for the the clowns in Hillsboro,

What a sad ending to what was once amazing leadership, even IBM didn’t fall like TMG has fallen. This Humpty Dumpty is done and no amount of daily twice a day is fixing the FUBAR

You left the company two years ago, and you are still lurking here? You live a sad life.
