Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Pebble might go away

There was a discussion this afternoon about an "off the shelf" collaboration solution for corporate level and logistics/supply chain, with the stores not being incorporated as a part of it.

Don't know if it means anything, fwiw. It's in a really early stage of planning, it's more like an idea being thrown around so nothing for sure.

That should work well. Overseas handling of logistics.

Completely worthless. Only a place for the a-- kissers and cheerleaders. People doing actual work are too busy to brag about it on Pebble.

Is there a cost for Pebble? If there is, it'll probably go away at some point. If it was bought and paid for already it could survive.

If leadership thinks Pebble makes them sound good, it'll definitely be around til the end.

Pebble is honestly a waste of resources. From all the years I been their and I seeked help I never got the help I needed. The few times I would browser bunch of cheerleaders as mentioned. Everyone would be so fake and just made me sick...

Pebble can go away it was never any good honestly.

Pebble is a huge productivity drain. Lots of people use it to discuss anything other than work-related topics. Corporate, regional and district management use it as a cheerleading or "worship the almighty Eddie" platform.

Its original intention to be used as a collaboration platform fell by the wayside long ago. Now it's a Facebook for Sears workers. I don't know if there would be any other company that would allow workers to shoot the breeze so excessively on company time and on a company platform. Yet there are tons of active, non-work related groups for just about every topic you could think of.

I've tried to use it to get my work-related questions answered (#ithelp mainly) but I never get any of my questions answered or issues resolved, so I no longer use it. I won't miss it if it goes away.

Pebble and all of these other technological "innovations" like the iPads or "Call Sears" on the SNCs are totally unnecessary and a waste of money. Pull the plug on it all and get back to the basics.

Pebble is a poorly designed community (surprise) because it's currently used for way too many disparate needs. Corporate are pushed via OKRs into posting 'meaningful' updates and discussion for their teams. Then this gets drowned out by movie/video game discussion, customer query requests, store/IT troubleshooting and plenty of other things you'll see all mixed together if you check 'all company' at any given time. Aside from a few places where people are either conversing to kill time or are required for their job function to post it is all mutually exclusive noise and there are few well developed groups.

They will probably keep Pebble and then have some supplemental brainstorming community for the corporate project level. (not that this is needed on top of the normal emails, meetings, etc)
