Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Fake news..?..hope so..

It seems like main focus of this forum is on Sales and hardware RIFs..

However-- there are 100s of idle employees in delivery/consulting for months now..

who would have thought in Q4 Oracle allows that..

These people have dated skills that nobody cares to severity of it..

DBAs?.. with all the Autonomous wave..good luck on new assignments..

Cloud applications?.. too buggy that I'd surprised if clients dare to pay 100s$/hr. per resource to hire us..they say-- 70% of company budget is salary...If by next week -- as this board claims, there is not major RIFs in these groups.. and highly paid managers-- continue do nothing...the problem with oracle is deeper than cloud incompetency.. it finally points to managing people..years of creating a top heavy organization of 138,000 people ( by LE design).. will finally affect 1000s..till oracle gets it right..

Or, they are hoping to demoralize employees and have them leave on their own. That could be cheaper, if people actually leave. But, not if people hang out for their packages.

Hard to tell what the strategy actually is. Everyone should look at their own situations and decide for themselves what is best for them.

Oracle is late in the layoffs. They are afraid of WARN notices, but really they should be laying off many more people than they have been. In the end, this will be just another one of LE's mistakes.

Some people here have suggested that the lack of layoffs is also tied to LE's ego. Can't admit his failures publicly and then move on. There is a lack of facing reality at Oracle. Perhaps that comes down in the culture from the very top.
