Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Careful what you wish for

To those pushing for an EISP, while your reasoning is understood, just remember you’re the one that sold all the younger members down the river and created two classes of Union members, the haves and the have nots. The more haves that leave, the more power the have nots have. Just a friendly reminder. :)

I agree with the OP and put that mason-dixon line right at 25 years.

And you won’t be in that tier when you retire? Of course not....the union will change it back just for you. Genius!

Meh, I’m sure Verizon would be open to two tiers of medical retirees if we can save them money over say, the next 15 years.

Whatever you pay when you retire should concern you. Go ahead and screw with the insurance, then when you retire, you’ll be in the same boat. Genius!

Insurance is expensive, that 50k + 22 might go really quickly. Why should we care how much retirees pay? You don’t seem to care about our retirement.

Yeah, you’re right. We should all refuse the $50,000 plus $2,200 per year of service and stay on to work well into our 60’s and 70’s. Got to keep the have nots down!
