Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

How long for Indirect Nationals?

They are rapidly expanding third party labor that only sells wireless in Walmart across the country, Best Buy is upgrading their stores that have Verizon experts (Verizon also pays part of the labor), Costco already works on commission.

Once all this is in place, they can't have much of a need for us indirect reps as there is only so much of a difference we can make. Anyone hearing anything about cutting or condensing this channel? Anyone have a guess as to how long this channel has left? This seems like an expendable position.

I have to imagine if Verizon sees the numbers they want/need out of these third party labor outfits in Walmart’s and th vendor paid labor in Best Buy, they will realize they can save a lot of money. Not to mention the Visible prepaid deal.

At very least, I think the may go back to hybrid reps that cover local agents and national retail. I know Att cut their reps but I’m not sure how much that hurt them. There have been no obvious signs that Verizon is going to follow suit but who knows.

Indirect is the safest? No freakin way. Indirect reps don’t do jack all day. Pretend to be busy slammin fake sales all day.

The most useless is in indirect. That is a true statement.

I disagree with that. Indirect is the safest right now. All the corporate stores closed or at least the majority were converted to indirect.
