Other groups have cuts coming 5/31-6/1. Retail is just one of many areas in the company. Finance, IT, Marketing, etc all are huge departments preparing for this.
Any more info on this? Is this going to turn out like May 17 or is there something concrete behind this?

Well 5/31 was no joke. A lot of IT folks let go in EUS & ITNUC groups. I was one of them. 17 + Year’s in EUS. Well it was a great place to work at one time. I almost feel sorry for the ones left. They will pile all of the work on them. I get a great package so not feeling to bad. Time to move on. Not long before they outsource most IT groups. Writing is on the wall.
I know someone who was asked to come to the office tomorrow Thursday, so I believe something is happening.
So much bull. Postponed these nutz! There never was anything to this. It's a 5/17 charade all over again by the union to keep everyone stressed out so they can swoop in and add more members to get better leverage in the contract negotiations for upcoming contract.

As of yesterday, this is still a go on Thursday (day before payday) for IT.
As a keyholder, I was just told i know longer am one. Management said the position is changing. Also a mandatory meeting was just given to our store for Friday. All hands meeting, even if your off that day, you need to attend.
There has been so much misinformation on here that I'm skeptical this is even going to happen.

First Question - If you're an EUS Retail Tech, you may end up with 20 stores. I'm not an EUS manager. I don't know if each Market is been affected. I know each Region/Area is getting hit.
Recent Post - If your manager told you that, then Congrats friend. You made it. Well done.
The fact is that it is happening. If it doesn't, then they pushed it back for some last minute reason. As of Friday, it was a go. Some of us are posting only because this has gone on too long. Morale is low. They need to handle these things better.
Again, push the issue with your managers. Do what the last person that posted did. Ask. You'll know if you are being told the truth.

I am a white male in I.T., in my mid 40's. Not worried at all. My boss says these rumors are all b.s. He scheduled an appointment with me Thursday to discuss it further.
what market(s) are we talking? West coast is spread SUPER thin already - as in, up to 18 sites per tech...
I'm also in IT and was told by my boss to "be prepared for May 31st". Many will be let go. Fewer people will remain to do the work. It's ugly.
It is happening on 5/31. It is confirmed. I am only speaking for IT. I'm a Manager that works with IT. This is frustrating for us too. We have no idea how we are going to get everything done. I am friends with several employees that are going to be let go. Many people have offered themselves up looking for the Severence Package.
Push the issue on Tuesday. Don't let it sit until Thursday. Start questioning your managers. Ask them about 5/31. Make them uncomfortable. The decisions have been made. The names have been chosen.
Middle management is not a good place to be right now. Few of us are happy. We all miss the company from five years ago. This is not good.
This is not the date of any type of Outsourcing. More information on that will be provided in a month.
