Let's Make CVS Better

I am a shift and have been with this company about 8 years.

I make the same as a cashier since the April raise went into effect. At least I did get a raise to 11.00.

I do not turn on my furnace in the winter or my AC in the summer. Being single it is almost impossible to survive. I have cut out all extras, no movies, vacations, going out to eat, cable, driving a paid off 30 year old car and down to eating 1 meal a day.

I do not feel appreciated for what I do from the company. I could slow down and do nothing like so many of the staff, but my work ethic and maybe my age will not allow me to do that.

As the previous commenter has said, the turnover is out of control. Trying to find new employees seems impossible. We run short staffed. Being located in a multi college town makes finding people that will make a career out of CVS is non existent.

Basically CVS is a paycheck for most. Stand behind a cash register and play on their phones.

It seems CVS would rather change the pharmacies into doctors and opthalmologists offices combined with an insurance company.

Loss prevention is a joke. We need better quality of cameras and more of them.

Theft is out of control. I take it personal everything I find empty boxes or bottles that were stolen.

Online shopping is closing many brick and mortar stores. CVS is one of very few stores that have a great plan of putting customers first and making them feel appreciated however the lack of employees makes it nearly impossible to greet and walk customers to products without ignoring other customers.

I believe they need to implement a "suggestion box" that experienced employees could submit ideas and other suggestions. Maybe a forum of sorts. We are the proverbial boots on the ground employees that actually could help make this company better.

I am a shift & make $19 & some change per hour. I am a union employee in CA. 40 hr per week guaranteed, due to seniority & union. Not bragging just saying, it's different for everyone.

If you can’t afford heat or AC, you need to find a new job. CVS ain’t gonna change and ain’t gonna help you.

I understand, i too had to cut internet, movies, games, i keep my tv off, furnace off, and i have no air conditioning. I love working at cvs but i get squeezed into the situation that maybe i should leave because its just not enough to survive on. I am also a shift. With everything going on with this merger i still wonder if i will still have a job. I keep hearing that our hours will be cut and some of us will be laid off.i love the job but its the people they hire you have to work with that makes working here bad. I wish you luck with all this thats going on.

They don't care. Suggest your brains out and they will not change. This is all about Wall Street and then bonuses, stock options and fat checks for Larry and his gang or merry Macy's misfits.

Shift supervisor ( soon to be whatever the new job title is, I forget) Found out today I'll still be making the same as a cashier even after the raises. I had a pretty positive view of the company until these events, now I think I'll have to move on to one of the local factory jobs or some other retail setting where my increased responsibility and workload will be acknowledged with cash.
