There is a HUGE round of WFR coming next week

Don’t kid yourselves. There is a HUGE round of WFR coming next week. The hammer is going to swing hard and fast in RTP.

I will return in a week and say “told yah so” ...

This is how you get around the WARN requirements. I suspect that Dell is using the second bullet:

1) If a plant closing or a mass layoff results in fewer than 50 workers losing their jobs at a single employment site;

2) If 50 to 499 workers lose their jobs and that number is less than 33 percent of the employer’s total, active workforce at a single employment site;

3) If a layoff is for 6 months or less; or

4) If work hours are not reduced 50 percent in each month of any 6-month period.

"Wonder if this will stay off the radar of the WARN act that DELL always masterfully avoids."

They are true masters at that! MDC had around 40 in the blood bath room, and in the meeting someone even asked about the WARN act and if they purposefully sneak right under it, and they said they pay 8 weeks severance which counts as 2 months notice so they didn't have to worry about that law anyways.

Wonder if this will stay off the radar of the WARN act that DELL always masterfully avoids. They usually just continuously dump smaller number of employees at a time.

While I'm not sure "huge" is correct, i can confirm its happening. I was just laid off last week and my mentor let me know he's doing layoffs this week in his org as well. Dunno how large, but it's definitely going on.

What about PoweMax ? Are there going to be any buyers for this Thing? Who would cares of yet another iteration of the obsolete architecture with 20 century design - Symmetrix.

It's going to be big in NDC and MDC.

My bet is 10:1, if I loose I will pay $500. Nothing will happen to NDC QA.

It’s even worse in NDC. We claim we are helping BDC with EqualLogic, we claim we are helping MDC with Compellent, we claim we are helping Hopkinton with Cyclone.

My manager and useless team lead used to ask me, are you helping others in the team. I always wonder why ? I hate the word help.

We created an illusion and make fun of company by working from home, taking 2 hours of lunch break, summer hours on Friday through out the year, walk around the building. All we do is steal Michael Dell money.

Even worse is the other director who plays video games on his phone. Doesn't have basic technical, managerial and communication skills. Doing politics and surviving by creating junk reports. Dell is a cosy and nice retirement home for these folks.

Same with BDC dell storage. A bunch of people with no technical competence. They even messed up a stable equallogic code base. They have taken 1.5 years for a useless release. They put in two features and messed up everything and removed the two features. To do this they took eighteen months. The director in charge spends all his time watching YouTube videos. This he is been doing for donkeys years in Dell. No competence no accountability zero productivity. It is only in Dell you can see such characters thriving.

Who cares about RTP, we all are safe in Dell NDC Nashua. Too many promotions, pay hikes, high bonuses and no work from mid 2014. Success is all about being in the right place.
