According to their website we are down to 365 in 47 States with 6 of the states only having 1 store. Turn out the lights as the party is over...

@3ces - "Target, snobs. Wal-Mart, slobs." Kmart, knobs; as in dumb as door knobs. Better class? Not by a long shot!

I haven't, however this time it's true . It''s not the "old distribution center line" it's reality . Where else do you think they could unload all of those $32 dollar basic editions capri pants for $7.99 ? or the $8 shorts for $6 ?

Been using the old distribution center line for many years now.

Who chooses Kmart over Target or Walmart to shop at?

Oh dear, the cheerleader is back ........ I live near one of the best Kmarts to ever exist and I can tell you that the only reason they are over packed with stock is because distribution centers are emptying out.

I’d say it’s regional at best. Kmart may do well in some area, but it is far from a national retailer. They should focus on their best regions and stop trying to be coast to coast.

Top 50 in my district as well. Has competition and the sales are good as well as store traffic. Guess there are shoppers who do like Kmart.

We have a ‘top 50 in my district’. The ONLY reason is does a descent job with sales is because they are the only store in town. I even read some of their yelp reviews just to see what their magic touch was. Most people said if there was another option for shopping they would go elsewhere. Give me a break. Kmart only does well when they have no competition.

@2joy - "Stick your negativity where the sun never shines." Sorry, there are no caves in my part of the country. Also, there are no Kmarts in my part of the country either! They all closed their doors; not a very sunny situation for Kmart.

Lol!!! So many trolls calling other people trolls. Kmart is not going anywhere. Stronger than ever. Top 50 stores are kicking it with sales, never ending freight and store traffic you wouldn't believe. Stick your negativity where the sun never shines.

I hope my strategy worked, to troll the cheer leader into submission. reality orientation is a tough business and the store she worked in is probably closing

It is sad how they rally how great Kmart is. Yes some stores are doing good and stockrooms packed with freight. But they are managed so poorly. The I don't care attitude is running them into the ground.

The cheerleader went silent for a few weeks before, and then came back in full force. Hopefully we're at least getting a few weeks' reprieve again. In keeping with the psych ward theory, I guess that's how long it takes before they work out how to escape again. ;-)

The Kmart cheerleader's attendants discovered she had chewed through her restraints. She is heavily medicated on Thorazine and is due for another round of electroshock therapy. Bless her heart. She's not well at all.

The KMart cheerleader will probably say these are all profitable stores, and try to rally around that. But the infrastructure that supported KMart was built for 2500 stores (or more). They can't consolidate fast enough to run this small of an operation profitably. And they can't buy in the volumes they need to, to compete against the discounter powerhouses.

I am worried for the KMart cheerleader. Do you suppose they finally got the boot?
