Thread regarding Sears layoffs

When was Tool Dept reset scheduled for completion?

Since my hours were already cut this week I wasn’t scheduled to work on tool reset although I was available!

I thought I read a memo in the hub that said it was to be completed on Wednesday 5/23..is that true?

I know the last day I worked, the tool department was a complete disaster with everything laying everywhere and I am glad I was not included or asked to be part of that failed project!!

I hope when I next work on Sunday it has been put back together nice and orderly, especially with all the hours that was dished out to managements favorites!!

Of course those favorites don’t even set the ad so I really hope the department has been put back together and is organized in consideration of the people that either pick web orders, sales people and ad setters!!

Was such a disorganized mess and didn’t look like anyone had been working on it last week either!!

The resets were planned with the idea that they could find a vendor to fill the POG. They have not been able to find a vendor to sell them enough tools. The POG will be set with many empty peg hooks and empty spots. They will tell you to just fill in the empty spaces with whatever tools you have to put in them. If they can find a vendor then the tool reset will be completed. As of now they will keep pushing the deadline back until they can find someone to sell them tools. SHC is out of money

In our store as someone mentioned they were pushed till next week after memorial week. However a co worker of mine said it could be even later.

I personally feel we won't get the same rush of hours in our store since our sales will probably go down. We are so behind the reset its just ridiculous because my supervisor doesn't know how to schedule people properly. We are probably 30 percent at most into doing the whole big change yet they probably assume we are close to be done I aint expecting a lot of hours here.

I just love how they just keep adding work loads of POGS with the limitation of hours. Also to add our SM having now idea how long this resets take overall making it think it can be done in a snap of a finger.

@1qyq - Your observation is spot on! Sears management still hasn't finished that Clean & Bright project that they started beaucoup years ago.

I wouldn't worry about it being finished because management has no concept how long it take to finish an project

If it's anything like the other resets, hours will increase a bit but you still have web orders, trucks, MPU and other backroom tasks that will eat up that time. Then there's shoes.

If your store scheduled like ours did, we didn't have a whole lot of overlap so you had one person running MPU, web orders and the reset a lot of the time.

Switching us to store support was a bad idea. I just do what I can...
