No layoffs coming June 1st but changes coming to many stores. Many stores will see their hours reduced and some will not open up on Sundays. Many stores will go to part time employees only besides management and this will save benefit costs.
Finally more districts are rolling out comission changes to trial out for a month or two before the nationwide rollout this summer.
Maybe no layoffs for retail but for other departments, it's not the case.
Confirmed, my store will remain open on sundays but move to 11-7 Monday-Sat. Fairly busy smart store in Illinois.
My store is closed on Sundays as of June 1st. Whether it is a death sentence or not for my store, I could not be happier. I hated working Sundays and I can finally have a day to plan stuff with my family.
