Some companies located near SWN are currently looking for contractors in multiple depts./disciplines. Network as much as possible, update your resume to reflect modern skills (ex: listing COBOL is probably not a plus to getting hired) and figure out how much money you need to live on. Don't worry too much about being paid what you're worth or what you made previously. Oil stays high a while longer then more opportunities for industry experienced employees and at better salaries will come.
Walmart, Lowes - I'd add Starbucks. Do something where you will be seen and recognized as 'being different' in a good way. A simple conversation can result in a job lead or opportunity. Be willing to do short projects where your skills matter most; enough small projects can keep your income going.
