Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Exciting Times

This is always the most exciting time of the year for me. Can't wait to see what happens! It's like Survivor but with real stakes. If I survive, I want to see what improvements the new FY brings. If I don't survive, I am excited to see what's In store after Oracle.

Sure, it feels like there is no strategy and direction anymore, just a bunch of changes hoping things get better. We are all aware that Oracle needs a hard reset to thrive in today's digital landscape. However, we don't want to be the ones unfortunate enough to be considered "the fat" when the company tries to lean up. If we want this company to prosper (which we all secretly do), then we have to be accepting of the exciting changes that every new FY brings.

Oracle rocks [the boat]!

No -- we want to be part of something successful and exciting. We want to prosper. It is becoming clearer that leadership is extremely narcissistic and doesn't care about making customers successful, seeing employees grow or making the world a better place. While Oracle is still able to spin the situation and get some to believe that the future is glorious for the company, reality is very different. "Exciting" is all spin.

Isn’t it funny how the sociopaths at the top al ost never turn out to be “the fat” that needs to be cut? Not funny? Yeah, I don’t think so either.

At this point, Oracle seems like a legal form of organized crime.

Wow. I am guessing that you realize the difference between a reality show and real people's real lives? In my 15 years I can't say this was my favorite time. Had to "restructure" to many folks with real life needs and challenges. I hope something positive comes of this year. It's been a long time since something of real value has been produced. Other than another marketing plan.
