So glad I left before this happened.

There is life after Dell, and it’s awesome.

Manuvir's not exactly blessed with the common sense to keep his mouth shut. He has an ego the size of a reasonable planet. Amusingly enough, every time he speaks about his Microsoft tenure, his role grows. I expect that next speech, we'll hear that he has to read Bill Gates a bedtime story every night.

Wouldn't the Junior over Senior comment open Dell up to age discrimination lawsuits? I realize not all Senior engineers are elderly, but come on, reaf between the lines.

"Manuvir, a Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Advanced Software Division at Dell EMC who during an all hands call made the folllowing statement " if you are a senior employee you have a lmited shelf life" "workers in North America are expensive and we value our junior employees" this is after he layed off many senior employees ."

^^^ This says it all too.

"John Hayden led EMC's original M&A strategy to buy Isilon in the first place. He then built Isilon's product for the last 5+ years and was the backbone of the technology organization. Getting rid of him and handing the product over to a spineless paper pusher is a clear signal to customers that technology doesn't matter. Servicing the debt and whopping interest payments is everything. Toys R Us in the making."

This is after he took his entire family to EMC Australia while he "worked" from there for an exteneded time period. (wonder how many thousands and thousands of dollars that cost the company for him to "work" and pay for his familys accomidations while in Australia.) This is just what executives think of employees worth, and how they spend company money so they can take an extended holiday from Seattle weather. To also say what he did before EMC , His claim when he came from Microsoft is "I fixed Windows Vista for Microsoft with Windows 7".

While attending many meetings where both Manuvir and Hayden were presenting, there was a definite animosity from them. Especially Manuvir creating unreasonable demands for the organization and really sh--ty decisions. For example, the OneFS 8.0.0.4 roll up patch took over 5 months to test and iron out, all because Manuvir had sold 8.0.0.4 as the golden release to the Dell leadership (ie. Michael Dell). Instead of doing the right thing and accelerating the release iteration and avoiding patches with 100+ fixes (as many as a small release), he chose the path that caused frustration for everyone and delivered no benefit at the end of it all.

Yes, I agree, Manuvir's plan all along, as well as closing the Seattle office within 3 years.

(we are one year in)

Who cares? He drove Isilon into the ground. Also, was Manuvir's plan all along.
