Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Time for wireless to unionize

I feel withall the uncertainty that this company has, with employee morale low, indirect leadership skills - IT support should look into unionizing to hold their own. There apparently was a call eith an IT head stating the lay offs were part of an ever growing culture of having a team who can do it all, merging T and W support teams together as one and removing the older technicians with severance pay and packages that will help them in years to come. Not sure what it means but the corporate heads seem to be attempting to silence us with layoffs at a rate faster than the next best phone release

Dues are only $30 btw, cud b even less per month. When we pay 40 % tax on the soon to be gone commission, then what happens? Does someone say anything abt that, how we’re all made fools & then given the kool aid with pacifier to close our eyes and believe the management that how much better it is? Can the mgmnt then harass an employee? I don’t think so and yes apart from job protection, there are other benefits too. Take ur head out of ur asses and take a look at AT&T employees. Someone has something to add to that? Probably not!

One store was forced to back out. Enough reps turned on the last few days to cause the vote to be cancelled, cowards. The other store is suppose to be stronger.

Unionization will not save your job, and you will have no more say in what goes on, and less money because you're paying dues

Considering how much they change quota and make it hard to make a paycheck and considering how many job roles a sales person has and how they never get compensated with more work load dumped i figure those are reasons enough to unionize. Sales reps are greatly taken advantage of and the company you work for loves messing around with your commission checks.

I think the cell phone market is the only one that constantly screws around with commission and in other jobs if you get more work load it generally comes with an increase in pay. Why is Verizon any different.
