Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Trolls might be from OCI rather than HR

OCI hires get RSUs as a significant portion of their compensation in order to match other cloud companies like AWS and Azure. They're therefore interested in seeing the ORCL stock rise like AMZN and MSFT.

Of course, long-timers know that ORCL stock in 2018 is about where it was in late 2015. Anyone who's smart enough to do basic stock research would have seen that ORCL stock momentum is weak and that the fundamentals for competing against the bigger cloud players are not there.

The reality is that ORCL's pivot to the cloud has been late and problematic. MH and SC are desperately banking on converting our customer base and it's not been happening as they'd like.

If you are a new hire, you have joined the wrong company.

Oracle cloud is vapor-ware.

They have to force it on customers through customer audits.

Even then the customers won't use it.

CSMs have been logging in as customers to make look like their cloud credits are being used.

Oracle development is corrupt. People and groups are sabotaged by others. There are a lot of managers who are seriously ill, sadistic, sociopathic, narcissistic, etc. Oracle engineering would provide years of text book study for psychology students.

You have joined a corrupt company on the way down. Not enough money or effort put into cloud development. It's really all over.

Get out and find a real job.

In my experience, young grads don't care about job longevity, as most will leave anyway after a year or two. Job hopping is what they do. If the pay is right, they will join Oracle.

Trolling here has no effect on stock, employee performance or retention. But try telling that to a young new hire who encounters this board.

Realistically, will trolling here have any effect whatsoever on ORCL stock prices?

Does anyone here really believe that Wall St. analysts visit this board?

OCI plays by different salary rules to compete. Vesting for some can be one year with annual refresh.

"Indeed it is and folks there want to leave as soon as they vest."

Doesn't it take 4 years to fully vest?

I know one good guy that hire from outside to OCI and he tool the job because of the work life balance offer and particularely wfh.

And as OCI is not great now, it can only improve... can it?
