I retired from wireless a few years ago, and really the only thing I get is a 50% discount on my wireless bill.
I've heard it's being cut, but does that apply to people already retired, or just to people going forward?

Consumer Cellular, $105 for 4 lines LTE, half of what VZ charges and good coverage by major carriers.
I recently ported out so now VZ gets 100% of nothing...Hope they choke on that!
That was the only benefit wireless retirees receive except a Healthcare plan they can buy on open market for less. The don't care about retirees and don't care about staff. Retirees will now be detractors instead of promoters. How about cutting the bloat at the executive level and at Basking Ridge? Did you see how many interns they've hired at B R? Cut the jet fleet, cut the health clubs, cut VLSS, cut exec staff and comp. Nah. Lets take from the staff and retirees.
Great move by Verizon.
At a 50% discount, there is no profit, only revenue. At 25% discount there is profit.
Wise move by the company. Retirees don’t help the company anyway.
So Verizon would rather get 75% of nothing, rather than 50% of something?
That kind of thinking will end it for me. Sprint has a 55+ plan for $35 a line. Guess I'll be changing over.
Sad really what has become of a once great company.
For current retirees, the new discount is effective 1/1/19.
For new retirees, it is effective immediately.
It's being reduced to 25% for all retirees.
I would like to know if this is being cut as well. Is there any concrete information if this is happening and when it will take place?
I think that is the new rate for all retiree accounts. Look around, you can find a cheaper deal at AT&T and others now.
