Been contemplating going Union on and off for a few years now. I'm a top performing rep, good employee, management likes me (for the most part) and always acheive my goals. I am sick though of how everything is being cut back and all the recent changes. More work, less pay and the constant lying and deceivment of the company.
Looking to hear from someone who went union. Is it worth it? Did anything change? What is the "real" impact?
Sure, unionize.....all your hopes and dreams will come true. Bet the bank on it.

Again, the wireless workforce is too divided, the new compensation plan is already being accepted with no push back, most of the reps would not vote for a union even when they are being let go and walking out the front door.

The impact is enormous if you have cohesive group with a back bone. Unfortunately such people are a rarity in the wireless world. The likely outcome is a lot of bluster from whiners and then a punk out when it comes time to mobilize. The end result is what the corporation wants a divided and unorganized workforce that can be dictated to without any ground rules such as those in a contract. The first contract is the hardest, but only because of the feckless. If all the reps nationally had resolve you could shut them down. You will always have the "better" than the average bear types who feel they are to good to be represented or those that ss lick and like to be favored that will undermine you as well. It is really to bad since there is much money to be made with the company. Unfortunately the unorganized will never get their fair share. Those that say dues are to high are full of Sht, most are brain washed southerners living in hovels. They have been a pittance compared to the extra pay and benefits made over my career.
You are best to either continue to eat sh*t or move on. If you respect yourself do the latter.

$47 hour, seems worth it to me.
I know from personal experience. The union came in, said employees would get better pay, more commissions, and lower quotas. None of it happened. At the end of the day, nothing changed, but the union gets 2% of base pay, nothing we can do.
