Has there been any closure of warehouses due to store closing?

@Twtbv5H-1get sorry you had a few bad experiences but many of the drivers are employed not contractors. As someone who used to do the deliveries I can say that generally, the wives hit on us. Couldve gotten L@/d every day back then if I'd wanted.

As for the contractors we use. The contractors get too many points they forfeit their money, so not aure How you had so many problems.

Not everyone has a bad experience with these guys. That doesn't mean a lot of people didn't legitimately have a bad experience.

Sears used to have an official complaints website which was filled with massive amounts of customer complaints about appliance deliveries, until they shut down the whole thing a few months ago.

Come on. Enough already. All my appliances are from Sears as are my parents, and the delivery guys have been very good. Also had a delivery guy for a mattress from Sears great.......and a guy who installed a dishwasher and garage door opener.....great. Sears aka Innovel delivers for Costco too....most of the guys are great.

Amazon did the background checks because we deliver for them. It is their policy. I stated the truth. Checks done. No record you work. Have record fired. The situations you address has nothing to do with past criminals record. They have clean records when hired. What they do once hired is a different story. Plus from what you say they were caught. Oh by the way I work there 25 yrs. You only speculate from the outside. Guess all the saints work for Lowes.

No criminal records, eh? We have some real winners who have tried to make advances with the female customers when their husbands aren't home. They steal jewelry, cell phones, cash, or anything that can fit in their pocket. They'll break/damage things and refuse to admit to anything. They argue or refuse to complete the job they are paid to do unless the customer pays them extra "under the table". The police have been called to have them escorted off the customer's property on more than one occasion.

Then you have the guys who will berate customers or engage in X-rated talk in a different language. Sometimes the customer speaks and understands that language and they'll say some really awful things, thinking the customer doesn't understand them. This happens pretty frequently, sadly.

I know this because I've dealt with situations caused by our rogue delivery drivers. Had some big sales cancelled because of their conduct. S5,000, $10,000, $20,000...all down the drain, and you just don't know how bad it really is until you have a customer walk in with a police report of what transpired during their delivery and a vow to never buy from Sears again. You don't know how bad it is when the husband comes in, mad as hell and red in the face because our delivery guys tried to make advances towards his wife. You don't know how bad it is when the adult children of an elderly widow walk in to the store in tears because their mother's wallet was stolen out of her purse.

Threats, harassment, s-xual advances, theft, you name it. I don't think guys with clean records would conduct themselves in this manner. I'm not saying that all third party employees contracted by Innovel are rogue, but man, I've heard and dealt with some whoppers over the years and I've been here 15 years. It started to get real bad about five or six years ago.

Since they are working for a contractor and not us they are untouchable. They are not our employees. We can't "coach" them, write them up or fire them, that's all up to the contracting company. Most other companies would give their contractors an ultimatum but obviously Innovel has not since we continue to have serious delivery issues to this day.

And why would Amazon conduct background checks for a company they don't control? Innovel is a part of Sears, not Amazon.

its not weapons , its appliances for housing on and around the bases. no criminal records... amazon had background checks done. so stop all the stupid talk.

What I assume was an Innovel delivery person delivered my Kenmore washer and dryer last year. The dude was about to drive away without his handtruck - when I saw he'd left it behind, I went running outside and barely caught him.

@qfm - I have to shudder at the thought of Innovel being tasked to warehouse and move things around for the military. If the screwups I've seen are of any indication, they'd probably lose a trailer full of weapons.

So many trucks that I personally received had extensive damage to the freight, missing items that were supposed to be loaded and destined to our store, items that were loaded that were supposed to go to another store. Granted, I'm pretty sure that there are different people loading Sears/Kmart trucks and the trucks for other businesses and the military, but it shows that there is a lack of care, accountability and oversight by the management of Innovel. Why would it be any different for anyone else using their services if they can't even get store shipments correct and in one piece? And when you call them out for something, it never ends up being resolved? The store ends up taking the hit on the damaged or missing merchandise because they'll claim that they have "no record" of it, and that's IF you can actually get through to someone.

Oh, and the home delivery part,,,that is part of Innovel too. Yes, they use contractors, so they aren't really Innovel employees, but I've heard countless stories about the delivery drivers being outright disrespectful of the customer and their property. They steal from customers too. Our store had to deal with an item that was never delivered. Turns out the Innovel delivery contractor dropped it off at a buddy's place. A lot of these "contractors" have a criminal record. Again, I realize that it's most likely not the same people handling stuff for the military, but it just goes to show you the total lack of oversight of Innovel management. What's to say that the employees and/or contractors handling the logistics for the U.S. Military aren't much different?

Innovel is a wholly owned subsidiary of SHC. It is not a spin off, at least not yet. If you search stock tickers you will see SHOS and Lands End, you will not find Innovel. They changed the name from Sears Logistics Services in order to attract more 3PL business

This service has been spun off as a separate entity like Landsend and Eddie own majority shares

Where do you think the Kenmore appliances come out of? Sears/Innovel warehouses. We deliver for Costco and others as well. We've been doing this for years. Where have you been?
