I agree .. some teams are completely dependent on H1B . Some H1B people got 3 promotions in a year. even though there are good talent of people in the team.

Verizon has been rarely doing H1B in the last three years. It slowed down several years ago. Probably the idea is, when VDSI is there, why get new H1B's? It does sponsor H1B extensions for those who started long time ago. And yes, H1B's get laid off too and we have seen plenty recently! And H1B's who is on Verizon payroll don't come cheap either! Their base pay is publicly available on USCIS site.

I agree that most Indian executives started on H1B but they are now first generation Americans! I understand it is hard to accept them as Americans and easy to stereotype them as 'Kumars' but they have taken the oath and got naturalized! :-)

Reporting Suspected H-1B Fraud or Abuse

We have established an email address dedicated to receiving information about suspected H-1B fraud or abuse. Anyone (including both American workers and H-1B workers who suspect they or others may be the victim of H-1B fraud or abuse) can email ReportH1BAbuse@uscis.dhs.gov to submit tips, alleged violations, and other relevant information about potential H‑1B fraud or abuse. When submitting information to ReportH1BAbuse@uscis.dhs.gov, please provide the following information in the email:

The name of the H-1B petitioning employer/company

The address of the employer/company or location of the H-1B worker(s), including the city and state

A description of the alleged violation, abuse, or suspected fraud

Your email address

Your name and phone number (optional)

Any other information that may be useful to investigate the alleged fraud or abuse

I wouldn't be surprised, hb1's replaced the helpdesk back in 2015 when half of the department was let go.
