Some IT "execs" were let go today in NY. The svp of help desk and the one gent who was "global head of AI".

Entire company is a disaster. Only time they make the news is denying claims (and losing), Office Depot, Bill Cosby,..... seems there business model is cut US and veteran staff, off shore the rest, collect premiums only to deny the claims, and when this strategy fails, blame mother nature and your predecessor.
AIG is a joke! Don't get drafted for a pet project because they never last or go live!
I wondered what happened to that virtual engineer thing. Heard a lot of good things about that group, then they disappeared about a year ago.
Losing the execs a couple weeks ago will save them a bundle. AI mgt. team travelled constantly, like some startup. Claimed not to have a budget. Wasn’t AI anyway .... just POCs and testcases for year +. Two managers left don’t even show up or login.... They managed to kill a whole org for sure.

People who add no value should be let go. Some very good people add no value. Some very good people should be let go.
My manager was let go, a truly stellar guy. After 20+ years in IT I can say he was the best manager I ever had.
Some good folks also got let go. Unfortunate, when the incompetent captains drive ships into icebergs, no one is spared.
Agreed! The impact didn’t just affect “leadership” roles, but individual contributors as well. Sadly, these actions are not likely over yet.
Huh, your spelling and grammar aren't that stellar either! I don't know about you but the ones that were cut today were decent individuals and will find better and more rewarding jobs way before their severance runs out.
Actually, an entire stack of leadership was impacted. Three levels of executives. But don’t worry, these folks will soon be replaced by new and improved executives from the available draft pool.
Yeah, the average IQ at AIG actually went up today by dropping that pair of turds. The head of AI shouldn't have skipped the spell checker portion of the AI curriculum. Read his yammer post from a few days ago. He writes like child and hasn't got a clue when it comes to IT, let alone AI.
