Depends. I've found that iPhone SEs fit sleds meant for the 5/5S (at least IPC/Linea and Honeywell), but they have a much beefier CPU than the 5S did. Came in handy at my job (shipping industry) when we had to upgrade a fleet of 5Ses with scanners.

"I'm not sure if the latest iPad and iPod would work with the sleds that ours are equipped with."

Probably not... seems like iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch accessories have to be redesigned and replaced with every new generation of device, because why not rearrange the ports/buttons for funsies and force people to spend even more money.

The iPads and iPod SNCs are dying off at an alarming rate. Those are 6-7 years old and are well past their intended lifespan. I'm not sure if the latest iPad and iPod would work with the sleds that ours are equipped with. Someone told me that the sleds were just as much as the device itself, so it must have clicked in the minds of Sears management not to waste any more money chasing after some technological fantasy of Eddie's.

Plus, those of us that are salespeople pushed back on management enough that we are no longer being forced to use the crappy iPads and SNCs to ring our transactions. I don't know if that's the case at other stores but our store manager doesn't care if we do or don't. I think it finally made sense that it took too long and slowed down the checkout process considerably, bad enough that at its peak customers would actually ask us to use the register. It was that bad. None of us use the iPads for transactions. We only use them for entering our recaps.

Unfortunately, the store support team are stuck with them. I think there are five working SNCs out of 20 at our store. I know that most of the SNCs have serious scanning issues, so it must be real fun to do an adset or price integrity audit.

Customers could care less about the technology and IT operations of a store they are shopping at. They just want to be checked out in a quick, efficient manner, and want to be ensured that their credit/debit cards/personal info are not compromised.

"Most proprietary patents for Sears platforms (SYW, ReserveIt, Pebble, etc.), are held jointly between Eddie and Leena. So while YOU will be laid off with nothing, they have the technology to sell to other parties."

Wow, that is bizarre if true. Normally a corporation owns all the patents created from the work of its employees.

Leena Munjal is no different from KellyAnne Conway. She is paid to lie for a living. She's a waste of oxygen. Interesting fact: Most proprietary patents for Sears platforms (SYW, ReserveIt, Pebble, etc.), are held jointly between Eddie and Leena. So while YOU will be laid off with nothing, they have the technology to sell to other parties.
