June 7 was floated as a possible layoffs date several times, so I'm wondering if anything is happening anywhere in the company.
Everything is quiet in my neck of the woods, but that doesn't mean that the situation isn't going to change later on.

It's been eerily quiet and peaceful here at SWN (Houston) for several days now. Not a lot of people are talking anymore about layoffs. Maybe everyone is just tired of the fake news and have accepted the fact that it's coming soon and talking about it is pointless. Everyone I know have already packed all their personal belongings and have either boxed them up or have already brought a lot of it home. I advised them not to completely clean off their desks. Leadership is going to think they've given up and not doing any more work and cut them loose right there and then. Everyone, please play your cards right. Do your work like you always have and if you're going to get laid off, you'll walk away with the severance package. If you're completely f---ing off, SWN just might fire you now and you get nothing!

I work on a sizeable project, who laid off half of our workforce today, and I'm told this is happening at many other locations. This has NEVER happened since I started with this company. Any one else seeing this?
First time poster, long time scroller... but just gotta day, when my boss hired me in 2014, and told me the sky’s the limit and that I was the future of this company, I totally believed him, and I still do. This company is the future. Everyone in here is so negative. It is so awesome to work here every day. From all the programs for employees, the pension plan, bring kids to work day, my fav coffee in The Market, and of course the awesome chef! How can it can any better than this? Sure, a few head hunters have called me to guage my interest in other positions, but why would I want to give up all that SWN has to offer? Seems like a no brainer to me. See you all at my SWN retirement party in 2054!

No. Nothing happened.
The same 2 or 3 people post a lot of garbage and fear-mongering on this site to scare people for kicks. You can imagine what those people must be like in person.
Try not to worry so much when people are posting dates here two weeks out. When the real date is actually approaching, you will hear about it because more people will know, and people will say something.
