It's Rocky Mount. Their customer base has probably collapsed. It's a rural NC town where nearly everyone with the means left 20 years ago.
Take the dwindling customer base and high expenses of a regular, corporate-owned Sears store and foist it on some poor individual who poured their entire life savings, blood, sweat, tears and soul into it and you get Sears Hometown.
To top it off, they get commission on their sales. They don't just buy the product from Sears at cost and turn around and sell it for profit. That has to sting if they aren't doing well. Anyone in sales knows that if you don't have customers, you don't have commission.
I thought this was suppose to be the "saving" grace of Sears, wasn't it?
